Hi Westie,
How good was that long weekend? Four days of sunshine in a row and some pretty decent sales too. Hopefully you managed to get out and enjoy it — and maybe grab a bargain or two. I know I did.
Don’t forget daylight saving ended last Sunday, so if you have not already, check the car, oven, microwave and any clocks that are not connected to the internet.
EcoFest is still going strong, school holidays are officially here, and there is plenty happening around West Auckland - including SUBLIME at the Trusts arena!
Let’s get into it.

Glen Eden’s Studio West Sold to Momoa, Waititi, and Curtis
Cliff Curtis, Jason Momoa and director Taika Waititi have purchased Auckland’s Studio West with plans to create more jobs and support Polynesian-led storytelling in New Zealand’s film industry.
The studio will now be run by the Āriki Group after being sold by long-time owners Kay and Glenn Howe.
The studio recently hosted filming for Momoa’s Apple TV+ series Chief of War.
The goal is to strengthen the local film industry and create more opportunities for New Zealand creatives.
Curtis says the project is about ownership, creative control and supporting local storytellers.
The new owners say the focus is bringing more productions to New Zealand and creating pathways for the next generation of filmmakers and actors.
